CNN —Denver Nuggets star point guard Jamal Murray has come under criticism after he was spotted throwing a heat pack onto the court during the reigning champions’ 106-80 playoff loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday. While on the bench toward the end of the second quarter, Murray could be seen throwing the heat pack while the Timberwolves were on offense. The object landed near the basket with several players in the vicinity of the heat pack. Murray’s behavior was described as “inexcusable” and “dangerous” by Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch following the conclusion of the game. I knew a heating pack was on the floor, but it was not in my field of vision.”Per various reporters, Murray did not speak to the media following the game.

CNN —Andy Murray let out a trademark roar on Tuesday after ending one of the most difficult spells of his career. The Scot released an emotional celebration after winning match point, turning to his friends and family with his fists clenched. After losing at this year’s Australian Open in January, Murray admitted this could be his final season on tour. Responding to an article in January questioning why the Scot is continuing to play professional tennis, Murray backed himself. While the days of competing for grand slam titles may be over, it appears Murray still has plenty to offer the sport.

“What do you do with the – what would seem to me to be – the plain consequences of your position?" Chief Justice John Roberts asked attorney Jason Murray, who argued on behalf of the Colorado voters who brought the lawsuit. “The reason we’re here is because Donald Trump tried to disenfranchise 80 million voters,” he said. The Colorado Supreme Court agreed, ruling that Trump's conduct amounted to engaging in "insurrection" in violation of Section 3. But it is not the last time the Supreme Court will be called upon to settle questions with an outsized impact on the 2024 election.

CNN —As Donald Trump wages a Supreme Court battle to stay on state presidential ballots, a potent contingent of the conservative legal world has united behind him. The new filings in the case of Trump v. Anderson also reinforce the tight world of Supreme Court lawyering. From the start, the Colorado voters trying to keep Trump off the ballot, and who won at the state Supreme Court level, have been represented by former US Supreme Court clerks who’ve become prominent advocates. It’s a scene most of us might associate with an open savannah in a nature documentary, but photographer Andy Murray is watching the drama unfold from his back garden in Somerset, UK. To Murray, these microscopic soil animals are as fascinating as the lions and zebras you might see on safari – just far more accessible, if you know where to look. “They live in this tiny world; it works like our world, it’s just on a really small scale,” he tells CNN. From a survey data perspective, the countries’ moves up the Best Countries list come as they gained in some of the project’s 10 subrankings. In the Best Countries rankings, Neelam points to Australia performing well on an assessment of whether a country is perceived as corrupt. While she announced her resignation in January – before the Best Countries survey was fielded – Neelam says he “wouldn’t discount the Ardern factor” in New Zealand’s rankings rise. New Zealand does have other things going for it that mirror Australia in some ways. Murray, of Karamea, says the country – considered the most scenic among respondents to the Best Countries survey, with Australia at No.

Each member of the Barnes family is facing inner demons, too, which we learn about through alternating chapters dedicated to each character. In Dickie’s sections, we flash back to his past days as a Trinity College student and the secrets he kept while there, which feed into his present troubles — there’s a blackmailer threatening to destroy him. Sweet PJ is targeted by a bully who claims his mother has been ripped off by Dickie’s garage — and then he’s targeted by someone even worse. This all may sound bleak, but Murray’s writing is pure joy — propulsive, insightful and seeded with hilarious observations. Through the Barneses’ countless personal dramas, Murray explores humanity’s endless contradictions: How brutal and beautiful life is.

The Wimbledon title is the grand slam she wants more than any other, but for the second successive year, Jabeur had to settle for the runners up trophy. Asked what the Princess of Wales told her in that moment, Jabeur told reporters: “Same thing after last year: to encourage me to be strong, to come back and win a grand slam, win a Wimbledon. The last unseeded woman to reach a Wimbledon final was Billie Jean King in 1963. Playing in her second grand slam final, the 24-year-old Czech played brilliantly on the grass and her variety of shots got the better of the sixth seed Jabeur. CNN —There was a period during Andy Murray’s second-round match against fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas where it seemed the former champion was going to roll back the years and produce another memorable victory on Wimbledon’s Centre Court. On resumption on Friday, Tsitsipas – 12 years younger than Murray – took the upper hand, drawing level after a fourth-set tie-break and securing the final set to leave Murray pondering whether he’ll play at his home grand slam again. Andy Murray lost in five sets to Stefanos Tsitsipas. Murray’s presence on the lush green lawns of Wimbledon could barely have been expected four years ago. He underwent hip surgery in 2018 that did not take, and it appeared his career was done. But a year later he underwent hip-resurfacing surgery that allowed him to play on. Still, his public held out hope, and did its part, beginning Thursday night, when Murray and Tsitsipas began the match. In a post-loss moment of magnanimity that many other professionals could not have mustered, Murray did not fault the decision, noting the grander implications.

There was so very little to choose between the two combatants in the opening set – just two points separated them, Murray winning 37 points and Tsitsipas 39. One of his 21 clean winners in that opening set came to punch through Murray’s defences for a 4-3 lead in the tiebreak. Two points later he held three set points at 6-3, and converted on his first by out-manoeuvring the Scot to take a one-set lead after just shy of an hour’s play. It was one he would not relinquish and at 10:38pm he fired a service that Tsitsipas could only return long. Tsitsipas stalked off court while Murray collected his bag and the crowd roared their appreciation as the night-time clash ended on a cliff-hanger.

In late May, with most of the world’s best tennis players focused on the red clay at the French Open, Sir Andy Murray was 300 miles away on the other side of the English Channel, dialed in on preparations for the grass at Wimbledon. But then his wife, Kim Sears, had to head up to Scotland for a few days to handle some business at the hotel she and Murray own. It’s all part of the next phase of Murray’s quixotic, late-career quest to finish his journey on his terms, metal hip and all. Maybe that means somehow recapturing the magic of 10 years ago, when he became the first British man in 77 years to win the most important title in his sport. Maybe it’s simply cracking the top 30 or 20 once more, proving wrong all the doctors and doubters who called him foolish for entertaining a future in professional tennis after hip resurfacing surgery in 2019.

But on Wednesday night, Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray walked into the interview room after winning Game 3 of the N.B.A. finals wearing an unassuming white T-shirt and baggy gray sweatpants. A few glints here and there — a glittering bracelet and large stud earrings — added a little sparkle. There are ways in which he seems unassuming, perhaps because he is often overshadowed by his teammate Nikola Jokic. But when you really pay attention, particularly throughout this year’s playoffs, his play sparkles through those perceptions.

CNN —LeBron James proved he is human after all as the Los Angeles Lakers fell to a 108-103 Game 2 playoff loss against the Denver Nuggets. With the Lakers up by eight points early in the second, James had a clear run to the basket after being found by Rui Hachimura in transition. Jack Dempsey/APLeBron blowing the easy dunk was just one of the many uncharacteristic errors made by the 19-time All-Star in the Game 2 loss. After the game, James reflected on the 0-2 hole the Lakers find themselves in and said that it wasn’t the end of the world. To go with four steals, five assists and 10 rebounds, Murray scored an incredible 37 points in the huge win.
CNN —Andy Murray is back in the winner’s circle for the first time since 2019 after the Scot beat world No. 17 Tommy Paul 2-6 6-1 6-2 in the final of the ATP Challenger event in Aix-en-Provence. “We keep going from here.”As well as winning his first title since Antwerp in 2019, it was also Murray’s first clay court title since the Rome Masters 1000 title in 2016 and lifts him to No. 1 first returned to the court in June 2018 after undergoing a first hip surgery in January of the same year, before undergoing a second hip operation in 2019. However, without any points to defend at the Rome Masters or French Open, another deep run will propel Murray up the rankings further still.
Why Southwest is melting down

By Monday, air travel was more or less back to normal – unless you booked your holiday travel with Southwest Airlines. More than 90% of Tuesday’s US flight cancellations are Southwest, according to flight tracking website FlightAware. Southwest warned that it would continue canceling flights until it could get its operations back on track. Similar to this month’s service mayhem, Southwest fared far worse than its competitors last October. While Southwest canceled hundreds of flights in the days following the peak of October’s disruption, competitors quickly returned to normal service.
